10 years later after the uploading of the video. I'm so glad that Pete&Carl have performed this song live one more time in 2017, which is better than this one! (Since they now stand together to sing and they communicate a lot, while in the days back then they barely spoke to each other and they recorded this one seperately. ) Wish both of them good health, their story has been very different from that of the Beatles...

Let's be honest the libertines are better than both babyshambles and dirty pretty things, showing that Pete and Carl both needed each other.

This is actually a very good cover. Of course it cant touch the original but that's because you can't improve on perfection. But they did do it justice. And I'm not a babyshambles fan. Its good they didn't screw around with the original composition and arrangement,because it normally messes it up when you try and re arrange and change an established gigantic classic like this. Your best off just covering it like this. 8 out of 10

Petes better than carl get a grip Carl's nothing without Pete

For me I put Carl on a par with Pete and Pete is definitely not quite the same without Carl along side him. Together they're one of the all time great song writing partnerships, up there with Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards, Marr/Morrissey and Brown/Squire.

Don't get me wrong I feel the same way about him as you and I listen to a lot of his solo stuff, but if you have haven't noticed, The Libertines wouldn't be the same without Carl either. there is a big difference between a Libertines cd and a Doherty cd. If I watch a Libertines video I expect to see the band, the same way that I expect to see only Peter in one if his videos

I`m a big Fan of the libertines. Here`s how i see it. Pete and Carl (The Libertines (Soz John & Gary) 10-10. Pete & Babyshambles. 9-10.Pete Solo. 8 1/2-10 Carl & Dirty Pretty Things.5-10.Carl Solo.6-10. Carl needs Pete to bring the best out of Him. When They are together,i love Them equally. Pete is the one that i will follow with more anticipation. My dream is Pete/Carl. Let`s wait & see.

but carl had joint writing duties, and carls a genius on that guitar, and his vocals are amazing, im not diagreeing with wot u say about pete tho.. petes a very gifted poet, singer, songwriter, musican yes.. but yeah.. deffo carl needs to be appreciated more than he is!

@skrupzak i don't believe gary powell or john hassle are geniuses ... they sure can play drums and bass... but it doesn't make them amazing artists. Barat is good, i like him, and there are some pictures of him. Yet Peter Doherty is the real gifted poet. He has got something he is the only one to have.. it's not only charisma, not only voice, not only looks, not only way of thinking...it's the whole him. I think he deserves a special treatment because he is a very special person.
